  1. The relation between Wolfgang and his father was certainly not a regular father-son one. Based on the reading of his life, we could easily notice the huge difference in personalities that both characters have. Wolfgang was really dependent on his father as he was the one who ran his whole life. Through Mozart´s reading, we were able to see the common conflicts that happen when your own father happens to be your business manager as well. When this happens, the role of the ¨manager¨ gains over the paternal one. Leopold was more of Mozart´s life boss than Mozart´s dad and I think this was very influential to the conflicts between them. In the story itself there´s a part that says that Leopold exploited his son and wanted to make the most of him before he reached the physical appearance that would no longer attract the audience admiration but at the same time he took great care of his children whenever they got sick which shows that despite being a strict director when it goes to Mozart´s career, he still has that touch of ¨the father¨. In the end we can see that when Mozart finally escaped from his father´s direction, he was able to succeed in his career after the continuous failures that he had faced. So in my opinion, I think Mozart needed his father as mainly a father and not a boss.

  2. After reading this story , it was obvious that the relationship between Mozart and his father was not stable. Mozart lived in a way that his father wanted to interfere in all his decisions. It was a big problem for Mozart that accompanied him long time in his life. Leopold like all the fathers wanted to make his son the best of the best people on earth, but sometimes it couldn't work.Mozart started a kind of revolution, and wanted to be decision maker not taker. For that reason he kind of shifted from his father authority and started taking his own decision. And this what made Mozart career success. In my opinion a father who wants to get the maximum from his son , he should leave him take his own decision in life such as the studies and the career.

  3. Out of love for his son, Mozart's father always wanted to get the best out of him as a man and as a musician. However, in my opinion, he was too obsessed with rendering him the best in the world that he forgot that Mozart was a young man that was prohibited to live his childhood and teenage properly. Hence, the boss's role took over the father's role in his relationship with his son. Therefore, quarrels were unavoidable at certain stages of his life. His father wanted to make the most of Mozart's talent at a young age benefiting from his physical appearance before it would fade away as he grew older, which proved for Mozart too hard to handle. Finally, and after countless ups and downs between Mozart and his father, everything was settled down and they came to good terms in the end.

  4. The relation between Wolfgang and his father was sort of different and cold.According to the text, it was paramount that Leopold was officially the business director of his son Mozart. He professionally played that role and devoted all his time and care to spread light on his son Mozart benefiting from his physical appearance.Ultimately, his only aim was to burst out a famous successful star hindering Mozart from living the necessary childhood. The paternal side in the relation between Mozart and his father was sort of obscured;consequently leading to several clashes. At the end of the text, we were informed that Mozart had the opportunity to achieve his goals and succeed all in all without the bossiness and the authority of his father...

  5. One can describe the relation between mozart and his father as business based rather than a loving father-son relation. Even though the father wasn't a bad person and really cared about his children he also had a tendency to exploit them and invest their talent at a young age to gain as much profit before they grow older and lose public's attention.
However, this overwhelming bossiness had also its negative effects. Mozart was a controlled person obeying to his fathers orders, a sort of obeisance for which he payed many failures in his life. Finally the day came when he succeeded to "escape from his father" and liberate himself from his authority. This was the first step towards a successful musical career after a long journey of successive failures.

  6. In my personal opinion, Wolfgang and his father had a relationship no different than many others that we encounter. A father always has plans for his son; and frequently, parents try to vicariously accomplish something they never could, through their children (since that's the impression contemporaries got while reading the passage). We should consider that, maybe, Leopold was genuinely caring for his children and Wolfgang wasn't "losing his childhood to oppression." He had a true talent. In another sense, modern readers (like myself) might actually be appalled by the fact that Leopold was still sending Wolfgang money when his son should have been earning it himself. After all, he was known to like a luxurious and fun-filled lifestyle, so Leopold - working several jobs for the family's sake - seems to be the true victim of the combination. So was it Wolfgang or Leopold who escaped from the other?

  8. Mozart's relationship with his father is not like any relationship between the father and his son in todays era. His father was always after him in taking decisions instead of him, interfering in every detail t...we could also sense while reading that his father was taking the role of the boss ,not the role of the leading father whom give advise to his son and encourage him in every decision he take .As we all know a great artist such as Mozart needs space without the interference of any one ,since he has his own imaginary and look to life. They where to opposing characters in the family .but at the end Mozart succeeded in his career without the bossiness of his father.

  9. Every child at a certain age needs some space in order to figure out what do he really wants. At some point the child has to be responsible of his acts. He needs to feel that he has the freedom to be the master and leader of his own life. Any father wishes the best to his children and try to accomplish through them what he didn't get the chance to have. So Leopold like any father tried to take care of Mozart by taking all the decisions and interfering in every detail consedering that he is doing the right thing for his child. But this relationship turned up bad since Leopold was not only his father but also his boss. This situation was unpleasant for Mozart which lead to different failures through his life. He was deprived from his childhood since his father consider that he should take advantage of his young talent before loosing public's attention. Once Mozart was liberated from his father's authority,he managed to show a tremendous success in his career.

  10. The relationship between Wolfgang and his father was in a way normal it's just that Wolfgang wanted independecy. Wolfgang's father on the other hand wanted to plan out his life for him and control it, but to him he was not too controlling and demanding he was just leading his son to a better path. Wolfgang wanted to be an independent musician, but his father kept interfering and to him thinking he was doing a good thing for his son. To me his father was not doing a bad job, on the contrary he was helping him and looking out for him.

  11. I read the story, i figured that this is not a normal relationship between a man and his son. Leopold was Wolfgang's father, but he took every decision like it was his own. Leopold interfered and thought that it would be best for his son, not knowing he is taking away wolfgang's independency. all fathers do this to their children, but after conflict, the father changes his mind to listen to a point of view of the child, that was not his case. He wanted his child to be the best, and he wanted it on his way

  12. in my opinion the relationship between Mozart and his father was for of a business relationship rather than a father-son relationship. His father wanted to take advantage of Mozart's looks and make the most of his talent. Like any father, he thought he was doing whats best for his son because any fathers dream is to see his son successful in his career and life. However, his bossiness only created conflicts between the two. At last, when Mozart was finally able to escape from his father and to become free from his authority, he was able to succeed in his job as a musician which shows that his fathers controlling character was the reason behind his failure at the beginning

  14. After reading "Escape from the Father", I came to realize that the relationship between Wolfgang and his father, Leopold, is very dysfunctional. Firstly, it is made clear that Leopold is trying to live vicariously through his son and he relentlessly pushes Wolfgang to achieve his own (Leopold's) goals.
Furthermore, Wolfgang's own dreams and aspirations are never taken into consideration by his father. As a result of this, Wolfgang is forced to resort to lying and deception in order to pursue his own dreams. In my opinion, when a child feels the need to resort to lying, it is always the parents' fault. In this case, Leopold never entertained the possibility of Wolfgang being an independent man with his own goals and aims. As a result of this, Wolfgang was forced to lie to get a chance at achieving what he really wants.
In the end, Wolfgang was able to reach his goals and become an independent musician. He was finally able to escape from his father and the dysfunctional relationship they had.

  15. The relationship between Wolfgang and his father is not different from any other typical father-son relationship. What made it a little more significant is the talent that Wolfgang was born with. Of course, parents want the best for their children. Leopold was being so controlling because he thinks that the tours are a kind of investment for the future, and Wolfgang, just like any other child, doesn't like to be controlled or limited.
In another perspective, Leopold was not paying attention to his son's desires. It is true that it was him who made Wolfgang famous, but at the end of the day it is his own life to control.
It was a typical complicated relationship where the father tries to be protective by being so controlling and demanding, and where the son always seems to try to "escape from his father.

  16. After reading the story “Escape from the Father”, the relation between Wolfgang and his father is understandable. All parents would act in a similar way as they do really care about their children. But the difference in this story is that Wolfgang acts shows that he is Leopold’s boss not his father. Though Wolfgang aim was getting the best out of his son and creating the benefit of his child’s physical appearance. Leopold was obeying his father’s commands that lead him to many failures in his life and business career. Every person needs some space and no interference from others. However, at the end of the story, when Leopold got released and free from his father, he succeeded and achieved his ambition.

  17. Parents always want what is best for their children regarding what the child wants. In “escape from the father “Wolfgang a child with great talent that lives in the shadow of his father Leopold. Leopold wanted to take control of Wolfgang’s career, and accomplish his own desires throughout his son. As a child Wolfgang did not agree with his father at all. Although Leopold was trying to make the best of his son he wasn’t taking into consideration what Wolfgang wanted. Thus leading him to repel from him and wanting to escape. Many children face the same problems with their parents leading to complicated relationships were no listens to anyone

  18. According to “Escape from the Father”, Wolfgang and leopard’s relationship was somehow unsteady and slippery. Leopard was not considerate of Wolfgang’s choices, neither was he reliant on his son. Wolfgang, having to obey his father, couldn’t even defend himself enough to take action. Wolfgang was at several times inferior to his father and had little say or control over his life. What was between a father and his son was merely a business relationship that lead to a clash that apparently couldn’t be settled but through the escape from the father.

  19. In my opinion the relationship between Wolfgang and his father was normal . Many parents have this way with their children , in which they lay down rules and force their children . the father of Wolfgang is a typical type of father who believes that he is the king of the house and he has the authority and the last word . The father was strict and wanted the best for his child , unfortunately Wolfgang did not understand this and therefore began to rebel on his father , forgetting what his father done for him . I believe that this relationship is a normal relationship , since i am sure that the day the father died , Wolfgang flashbacks reminded him of what his father done for him . After all he would not have become famous without his father .

  20. After reading the story, one can clearly realize that leopold and worlfgang did not have a father and son relationship, it is obvious that leopold was dominating his son by taking all of the decisions that wolfgang himself should have made. In his opinion, leopold thought that he was doing what's best for his son, but he didn't realise that wolfgang was suffering so much, that he tried to escape many times, until he succeeded. In my opinion, a father must direct his children to right path in life, but in leopold case it was kind of making his son walk in a path that leopold chose, leading his son to a life he doesn't want.

  22. It is normal for a father to be as protective as possible towards his children. Leopard, however, was not just an overprotecting dad. He was living his children's life as if it was his own. Frankly, I think that without Leopard’s full attention and guidance, Wolfgang might not have become what he now is. Leopard was doing the right thing, but he was not doing it the right way. He made Wolfgang feel trapped and uncomfortable and felt the need to escape from his father and become an independent musician, which, in the end, he ended up becoming.

  23. The piece written by the author was purely informative, there was no opinion or feeling input from the author, yet the way he presented Wolfgang and his Father clearly pointed the kind of relation they had. Before we analyze their relation, we have to put ourselves in the context of that time, when the father had complete authority over the son until he is married; so the father here did take great care of Wolfgang's future career. Since Wolfgang was a young boy he and his sister went on tours all over Europe, no matter the circumstances or his children's health, Leopold carried on with the tours. It could be interpreted as an abusive relation, the father abusing his children's talent, but after all he was trying to do what's best for his family. Even when Wolfgang reached his adolescence, his father remained a superior authority figure, he did go on tour alone with his mother, but he still complied to his father's wishes in every latter he sent. When he became an adult, Wolfgang still struggled to define his own personality and musical carreer, at one time he and Leopold became in slight harmony due to the oppression by their common employer, but even then Wolfgang always tried to manage an Escape From the Father.

  24. It is normal for parents to somewhat interfere with their children’s lives. Yet Leopard’s interference in Wolfgang’s life was very significant. Since his early years, Leopard trained Wolfgang, organized tours, advertisements, made important decisions for his son. It makes us wonder what Leopard’s deep desires truly were. Did he make all that effort for the good of his son or to accomplish his own dreams? No doubt that he wanted all the best for his son yet perhaps his deep obsessions controlled his behavior and made him interfere in every detail in Wolfgang’s life without taking into consideration his son’s happiness or true expectations. Perhaps, Wolfgang’s conflict with his father is based on this blind interference. This was shown in a response letter that he wrote to his father, in which he expressed that happiness can be found inside the man and does not depend on his father’s plans and projects.

  25. Obviously for a boy of such young age and talent, Wolfgang's father, Leopold, wanted to make the best out of his child by utilizing his youth before he grows old and no longer appealing to the public. For that very reason the relationship between son and father numbed into a domination of Leopold over Wolfgang's every decision. Wolfgang eventually realized this regime he was living his whole miserable life and time after time started disobeying his father's directions , forging his own path , straying away from the consecutive failures he's behold for being on a leash. Inevitably, Wolfgang found a way to "Escape from the father" and finally be able to follow his own opinion, make his own future. Although Leopold was strict with Wolfgang , and was more of a boss than a father, he still showed affection through taking care of him when sick, maybe Leopold just wanted his son to be the best in the world, but then again, don't all parents want that too fr their children?

  26. Mozart's story is an interesting one. It shows how interest, money and fame can destroy what was once called parenthood. The father used his authority over his son to make financial and social benefit. That was the cause of the "Escape from the father". Wolfgang made a decision to overcome and destroy this curtain made of a mixture of money and authority. But what is touching, is that the father took care of his son when he faced death. He returned to his figure as a loving and caring father, regardless money and benefits.
